The Woodlands Kiwanis Club’s Annual Kid's Fish
August 30, 2025
Annual Kiwanis Woodlands Creekwood Fishing Derby

The Annual Kiwanis Woodlands Creekwood Fishing Derby (For Kids) was held Aug. 30th and the Woodlands Bass Club once again stepped up to support. The derby is for children, toddlers to age 16 and their parents or guardians, all fishing for the largest to the smallest of fish. Members of the TWBC showed up ready to assist with fishing tackle, advice and guidance, weighing and measuring of fish caught. Though the bite was slow, fish and snappers were caught with memories made. Overall, it turned out to be a great morning. Our thanks to the Kiwanis for their invite and hospitality and to the TWBC members that participated. The smiles of those young fisher persons made the day.

Until next year, tight lines.
The Woodlands Kiwanis Club’s 38th Annual Kid's Fish
August 31, 2024
The Woodlands Kiwanis Club joined up with The Woodlands Bass Club maybe 20 years for their Kid’s Fish event.  This year marked the 38th Kid’s Fish outing and once again the club stepped up to provide support and weigh in for all the catches, big and small.  Not sure of the head count but for sure the word was out and the event was well attended.  From the youngest angler of 3yrs to the seasoned teenager, hooks and bobbers were flying and a few fish were found.  Largest catch came in at 7.26 with the smallest tipping the scale at .03 lbs.  Clearly all had a great time and were eager to show off not only their angling skills, but some were actually pretty good dancers to the music being played.  Congrats to the winners and to all who participated.  Memories for a lifetime.
17th Annual Creekwood Fishing Derby

How to get the next generation interested in fishing?  Put on a local fishing contest.  That is exactly what The Woodlands Township did and has done for the past 17 years.  And the Woodlands Bass Club members once again provided services of weighing, measuring, tackle assistance and angling encouragement.  Though the temps were a little on the cool side, turn out was good and fish were caught.  In turn there were smiles with a few bragging rights thrown in for good measure.  Here are a few pics of the participants and winners.
